Dental Implant for Single Tooth

Dental implants are today’s best option for people who have experienced tooth loss. They are the closest thing to natural teeth that modern dental technology has to offer. Implants provide amazing results for full mouth restorations or for individuals who have experienced the loss of one or several teeth due to accident or trauma. Dental Implants are small anchoring devices that are implanted into the jaw – directly into the bone.

People who have had dental implants report feeling more like they used to feel before they lost their teeth. The cosmetic benefits and the overall feeling of a restored youthful smile can be remarkable!

The Surgical Procedure

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves one or two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first few months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to eat a soft diet during this time.

Implant surgery is routinely done in our office at Lovesmile. The surgery can usually be performed with local anaesthesia.

After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. The dentist at Lovesmile will attach small posts, which will act as anchors for the artificial teeth. These posts protrude through the gums. When the artificial teeth are placed these posts will not be seen. The entire procedure usually takes three to six months. Most patients experience minimal disruption in their daily life.
